About Carr Garden Buildings
In 1950, Arthur Carr started making fine timber cabins from his home workshop. By 1959, with the help of his son Tony, he had expanded his business to occupy a workshop and yard at Heath Street, Barking, Essex. They continued to make quality products such as garden sheds, timber frames and doors.
In 1970, Arthur Carr’s son Tony with other directors, formed the company Carr Portable Buildings Ltd and extended the business by opening the North Street, Barking, Essex factory. The company has continued to grow, by 1987 the company had opened a mill and factory at Wickford in Essex and in May 2003 a new workshop was opened to cater for the increase in orders. In 2004 we started trading as Carr Garden Buildings so that our name more accurately describes what we produce.
